Between Yahya Al-Haddadi and the Leading Imaams of the Salaf on the Caller to Innovation and Other Than Him

Yahya al-Hajuri al-Haddaadi claims that the leading Imaams of the Sunnah past and present are holding onto that which is futile (baatil) and empty speech (kalaam faarigh) when they distinguish between the caller to innovation and other than him. See that documented in this article. Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said in al-Majmu' (24/175):

As for the one who conceals sin or conceals innovation which does not expel (from Islaam) then such a one is not boycotted. Rather, the one who calls to innovation is boycotted, since boycotting is a type of punishment, and only the one who openly manifests disobedience, in speech or action is punished. As for the one who manifests goodness to us, we accept what he makes outwardly (apparent) and we entrust his inward state to Allaah the Exalted. For his case is like the position of the Hypocrites whose outward (behaviour) was accepted by the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) and he would entrust their inner secrets to Allaah when they came to him in the year of Tabuk, swearing (by Allaah) and making excuses. For this reason Imaam Ahmad and most of those before him and after him from the leading Imaams such as Malik and others would not accept the narration of a caller to innovation and would not sit with him, as opposed to the one was silent (not a caller). And the authors of the Saheeh (compilations) would bring narrations through groups (of narrators) who were accused of innovation, from the silent ones (who were not callers), but they did not bring narrations of the callers to innovation.

As for the Haddaadiyyah who come to the defence of Yahya al-Hajuri on this issue one should note the following:

  • They defend al-Hajuri by using the issue of "difference of opinion" - in other words, they will rush to find statements of scholars through which they shout, "See there is ikhtilaaf in this issue", intending by that, to find a way out for al-Hajuri. At the same they exclaim that they are people of evidence and proof, yet they seek to argue through existence of "ikhtilaaf" and at the same time they use this very same point to attack Ahl al-Sunnah. Yet it's fine for them to employ "ikhtilaaf" to find a way out for al-Hajuri.

  • They use arguments which are irrelevant to the issue being discussed. For example, some of the mentally-challenged amongst them think that just because Yahya al-Hajuri - (whose innovation has been established and has been declared an innovator by those who know his reality in detail) - just because he travels and gets sitting with Major Scholars, that somehow exonerates him from all of his grave and serious calamities. It would be nice for al-Hajuri to open up the discussion of whether Uthmaan (radiyallaahu anhu) instituted the "umm ul-bid'ah" (mother of innovation) with some of these scholars he is visiting (see here) and argue with them with the ferocity that he has been arguing with those lesser than them to justify his misguided stance.

  • Those who point out al-Hajuri's oppositions are then attacked with labels, "liar", "ignoramus" and so on based upon arguments similar to the two mentioned above. This is because in the actual issue at hand (in this case the issue of the caller to innovation and other than him), the truth is with those who criticize al-Hajuri, who is opposing firmly established principles with Ahl al-Sunnah. From this you can see the mentality of the intoxicated, blazing Haddaadis to whom the honour of Yahya al-Hajuri al-Haddaadi appears to be so great that we have not heard from any of them stand up and say a word in defence of Uthmaan (radiallaahu anhu) against the accusation of bid'ah leveled against his action in instituting the second adhaan for Jumu'ah. But they have climbed mountains and swam seas to protect Yahya al-Hajuri from blame and criticism in that and many other issues.

  • Finally, we do not read the refutations of the Haddaadiyyah, nor do we give them access to our eyes and ears (through Twitter), rather we block each and every single one of them, so what they say and write does not actually come to us, but sometimes people send us some of their foolishness through screenshots. So on occasions we may address the issue in a general or specific sense. But that should not give the impression that we are concerned or watchful over what they say and write. Rather, we proceed upon complete oblivion to their ravings and rantings alhamdulillaah.
